About a year and a half ago I went through a phase of massive sleep deprivation. I mean zero sleep. I could not figure it out for the life of me. I didn’t have any major life stressers and maintained a very healthy lifestyle. I took melatonin nightly and nothing. Bought a fan, used a white noise app, tried new breathable bedding and pillows. Nada. I was desperate. I talked to a friend of mine about my sleep struggles and she, an avid essential oil lover, handed my two rollers - one of peppermint oil, the other a lavender blend. Though skeptical that they would help, I tried them the same night. To my pleasant surprise they helped tremendously. I rolled them as prescribed on my neck, wrists and temples. I fell asleep much faster and slept much better (not perfectly, but it came with a consistent nightly application). Now I am a believer in the power of essential oils and use them in a diffuser to brighten the mood around the house and especially during allergy season to help with our stuffy noses. (Eucalyptus does the trick!) The best part is adding them into my baths to transform an ordinary soak into a luxurious sanctuary. So if you’ve been a skeptic on essential oils like I was, give them a try. Your body will thank you.
